~ IES teams up with Green Team Coalition ~
IES and Green Team Coalition have teamed up to better help their Clients achieve higher energy efficient facilities installations. The focus is to provide Architectural and Engineering support, including LEED Consulting for Schematic Design/Design Development and Construction Documents Packages.
~ IES will work with SVS Vision new Corporate Headquarter ~
The relationship with SVS continues to grow. The newly acquired building in Mount Clemens will be totally renovated to include a Showroom on the first floor and corporate offices in the adjacent building 3 floors.
~ IES successfully completed the 3D BIM at Ford Livonia Transmission Plant ~
IES worked closely with Slifco Electric and Partlan-Labadie Sheet Metal to create the 3D Model for 480V Power Distribution Feeds to Roof Top Units at FLT. Walbridge professional Virtual Building Design team played an instrumental role in compiling all disciplines' Models including HVAC, Fire Protection, Process Piping, Lighting, etc. IES participated in weekly 3D Design Meetings in an effort to coordinate with the entire team in the Clash Detection process to ensure a successful and efficient installation.
~ IES attends the Groundbreaking Event for Consumers Energy new Service Center ~
On September 19th, 2014, Consumers Energy held a ground breaking for the new Bad Axe – Michigan Service Center. IES, being the architect of record for this project, was honored to attend this great ceremony. The speakers were Michael Kirkland (Consumers Energy – VP Energy Operations), Joe Schultz (President UWUA Local 104), Carl Osentoski (Executive Director- Huron County Economic Development Corporation), Jim Hicks (Mayor – City of Bad Axe), and Michael Hayes (VP Business Development – Commercial Contracting Corporation). IES remarks highlighted the primary design objectives to pursue LEED Certification, which aligns with Consumers Energy’s vision for an energy efficient building.
~ IES successfully completed Comcast – Taylor Facility Project ~
IES Structural and Electrical Systems upgrade design was completed during the course of the month. Comcast will install two new 1.25MW Generators and Automatic Transfer Switches, and reconfigure the Main Switchboard Utility Power Distribution inside the Service Center for their AC and DC Loads. The primary goal for this project is to ensure the “N+1” Power System Reliability for uninterruptable service to the tens of thousands of customers that Comcast serves in the region.
~ IES completed the design for GM Lansing - Paint Shop Building Addition ~
IES successfully completed the design of the Electrical System for the Paint Shop building addition at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant. Being a Design/Build project, IES teamed up with Slifco Electric, Walbridge, and Gallagher-Kaizer Corporation.
~ IES teams up with Commercial Contracting Corporation ~
IES and Commercial Contracting Corporation (CCC) worked together on a Design-Build Project for Consumers Energy Service Center in Bad Axe, Michigan. The design team pursued LEED Certification per Consumers Energy’s commitment to this new, energy efficient building.
~ IES creates new business relationship with Comcast ~
IES establishes Comcast as a new Client. Working with Comcast Engineering Department, IES developed a Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document Packages for the proposed building addition of the existing Taylor Service Center.
~ IES Received DTE Energy Designated Trade Ally Certificate ~
Along with DTE Energy, IES Architects and Engineers constantly seek state of the art means and methods for upgrading our clients’ facilities and infrastructure. Our goal is to help our Commercial and Industrial Clients achieve energy efficient projects as well as building systems installations. Through periodic trainings offered by DTE Energy experts, IES acquires up-to-date knowledge and expertise pertaining to the latest available Energy Rebates Programs, allowing us to by implement new technologies and higher energy efficiency strategies.
~ IES started a new business relationship with Vehma International ~
The first project with Vehma International is to provide Structural Engineering Services for the expansion of the IT Room on the third floor. IES is looking forward to having a long term success with such a great client.
~ IES initiated the first package for SVS Vision Build-Out ~
The relationship with SVS started in March to provided Professional Engineering Services to update or total new build-out of a number of SVS Vision Showrooms. The first one will be in Madison Heights, followed by Shelby Township, Monroe, Sterling Heights, and Detroit.
